Figuring out how old kids are by month is ridiculous. It's kind of like pregnancy. It makes more sense to people to explain it in months, but mathmatically it doesn't work out since each month has a different number of days... So Cash is 18 weeks, a bit over four months, but not by much. We did great at our doctors visit. He's normal, albeit a large fellow, though not as big as I thought he'd be. I didn't write down the exact numbers, but he's about 25 3/4 inches and over 15 pounds (but not quite 16). He did much better getting his shots this time, and better yet I didn't cry.
Yesterday we got photos taken by the amazing Chris Gonzales (http://www.chrisgonzalesphotography.com/). We can't wait to share them all with you, as we think they are wonderful. And he was so good with Cash. But I think it wore Cash out and he took a nice long nap yesterday. Unfortunately, we still aren't sleeping as long as we should be at night. Just before we left on vacation we got a five hour stretch, but since then it's been three hours at the most. We are chalking it up to recovering from vacation and our irregular schedule. I will attempt to have him conform to a more regular regimen, but it's difficult when we are all willy nilly. Lets face it, it's all our fault :)
But over all Cash continues to be a wonderful baby. He is smiley and giggles easily, and is in especially good humor after naps (as we all are). He is sucking on his thumb a lot and biting everything, though we don't think he's teething yet. He's arching is back quite a bit, which aides him in rolling over and reaching things, but makes diaper changing a bit more of a challenge. His diaper station remains his "happy place" though. Go figure. His dexterity continues to improve; I can't wear earings or necklaces anymore and my glasses fall victim to his slobbery hands frequently. He still favors his left; he could end up a lefty like Kate, Cindy and Aeva. Who knows. Everyone always remarks on how alert and strong he is. We don't know if they're just being nice, but we think it's true. If he only had the balance thing down because otherwise he has no problem holding himself up.
The pictures should be up within the next couple of days, and let us know if you want any. We did order some already, but we can always order more.
