And then there was the trip to Utah. That drive is a monster. We left Monday around 1pm and got into Reno at around 6pm. We picked up pupusas and had dinner with my aunt Linda and let the kids run wild for a couple of hours. We hit the road again at 9pm and Clay drove us straight through to Bountiful. The kids slept fitfully from 10:30pm-4am and we got in around 5am.
We are grateful for Jeannie lending us her van- it made the trip much more bearable. But the drive was totally worth it- we got to see Honor and Benson sealed in the temple.

And since we'd all gotten gussied up we took a few snapshots of our own.
Yeah, that's the fascinator I made for the occasion.
After the wedding there was a family luncheon, but Tupp came down with the same fever Cash had before we left so she and I stayed home and the boys had a blast riding the train around town after the festivities were over. The next day was the formal reception. Clay set up his speakers and I helped out Honor's friend Cate in the kitchen prepping some strawberries (yum). Then we ran home real quick, got dressed and were back in the car in a flash to be at the hall for family pictures. Had to take some of our own.

Not the best, but considering the circumstances they aren't bad.We kept our eye on the weather reports and decided, last minute, the best plan would be to leave Saturday night for Reno. So we did. We packed up and cleaned the best we could in three hours and by 8pm we were on the road. The weather and visibility was horrible, but thankfully Clay is an experience snow driver and we were in Reno by 4am. We woke to find Cash with a fever so Clay took Tupp to church by himself and got caught up with one of his old companions- Elder Jimmy Picket. Cash was all recovered in 5 hours and we got another room for the night as the pass wasn't open yet without chains. Monday morning we had breakfast at Mimi's Cafe (the best place we'd eaten the entire week) and then hit the road by noon. Tupp slept until Auburn and then rocked out to music until we got home at 4pm.
I've never been so glad to be home in my entire life!!
But it looks like we've gotten home just in time. Clay's dad had a heart attack a week before the wedding and then had a double bypass on the day of the wedding (Thursday). Today his heart has revealed more damage and he has been moved back into the ICU until they can put in a pacemaker. He's had three "episodes" today and I believe his kidneys are being affected. He is in our thoughts and prayers and ask that he be in yours as well.
The past two weeks have been a reminder to us that life can change so quickly. We are grateful for good family and friends to share our life with. Thank you!
