We've found a new past time. I've always wanted to do it, but now that Clay's in charge of making new geocaching finds we've decided to try all of the local ones. Who doesn't like a good treasure hunt?
Cash was getting a bit of teasing at school for painted finernails. The best thing out of the experience was both the talk about withstanding pier pressure but also this sweet boy who is a couple years older than Cash who took it upon himself to befriend him, protect him and play with him through the incident.
For spring break we decided to go on a week long trip. Clay, of course, picked Disneylad. Just before we left we found this butterfly which was missing two legs and the bottom half of it's wings. We decided to keep it,which meant we had to take it on vacation with us. We dutifully picked fresh flowers for it each day and filled it's cap with water. It died after 8 days. Hey, we tried.
We surprised the kids and didn't tell them where we were going. We spend one day in Disneyland and Clay wanted to try a second day in California Adventure. I think in the future we'll stick to one day at Disneyland- that just works best for us. Cash went on a couple of rollercoasters (Thunder Mountain and Goofy's flight school). He HATES rollercoasters. I took him after hours on the first day while the other munchkins slept with Clay. We did the teacups and Pirates and Buzz lightyear. Only fair since during the day i mostly stay with Pherse.
OH, and he hates ferris wheels too. Tupp and Pherse on the other hand are daredevils.
We drove through the afternoon and night on Thursday to Santa Rosa.
We loved seeing the Lindsay's and Ben&Stacey after so long. Tupp and Cash LOVED their cousins.
Tuppy is such a rascal. She dresses up everyday, all day long. Elsa, pirate, fairy, parrot, ballerina, mermaid...the list goes on.
She also managed to lock Clay's bedroom door, to which their is no key. After many attempts to pick it, being guided by Youtube tutorials, Clay finally had to take off the trim and pry it open. We've switched the lock to the other side now.
Oops. I almost forgot the rest of our vacation. So Saturday we had a Gray family reunion (my mom's side). We only had hours when we really needed days. We left a tad early because Pherse came down with a fever- which turned out to be from teething and very mild.
Then Sunday we spend the day with the Mitchell's and Scirica's doing egg hunts. We ended up loading up lickidy split and driving back that night to save money on our car rental.
After being gone for so long it felt weird coming back to Virginia City as our home. But we've settled back in and are back to the grind. We love it. :)
